²³ But he was aware of their deceit and said to them, ²⁴ “Show me a denarius.^[a] Whose image and inscription are on it?”

“Caesar’s,” they answered.

²⁵ He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
